AppleCare+ does not cover failures due to design and/or material and/or manufacturing defects.These failures will be covered by your rights under consumer protection laws and/or by Apple's limited warranty or directly by Apple during the same coverage period as AppleCare+, even if you did not purchase your Apple product from Apple.
